The Laptop Library
Fusion’s laptop library program provides young people who do not have access to a laptop exactly that! Young people will be given a laptop on loan with a minimum loan of 4 weeks, with the option of an extended loan if deemed appropriate. This program came to fruition over the COVID-19 period in the year 2020, and through our communications (and surveys) we obtained data that young people who were (at the time) schooling from their homes had no access to a working laptop.
It was clear that majority young people had a handheld device whether that be a mobile phone or tablet, yet a laptop or desktop was not an asset within their homes. There were many reasons to why this was the case according to our surveys, it was due to financial difficulties being the main reason to no having a computer device.
With this information came the idea of utilising a long standing relationship with Amadeus IT who provides the Laptops thatwere then sorted and refurbished by our amazing Fusion Sydney South IT team, to its best operating ways – software & hardware wise! It’s not a Gaming Laptop because that is not what its purposely refurbished for. These laptops are available for young people aged between 12yrs – 18yrs who reside within the Canterbury – Bankstown LGA (there are special considerations for those who do not reside in CB city).
