Schools Work
Working with
your school
We have a long history of working with schools across Canterbury Bankstown, providing support, recreation and purpose to local students.
Our goal is to empower young people between 12 and 18 years of age, by providing opportunities for personal growth, skill development, learning and social interaction.
We work with school staff to find the program best suited to achieve the school’s goals for their students. The needs of the young people, their engagement with school, and level of personal development are all taken into account in designing the program.
Our programs are usually held once a week for 5 to 8 weeks.
Building Blocks
This program aims to educate young people to embrace their own power and potential, as leaders and cultural change makers.
We train young people to take ownership and responsibility for themselves and their school communities.
The program focuses on life skills and addresses youth issues in a strengths-based, youth-friendly manner to motivate, challenge and empower young people to become positive leaders within their own sphere of influence.

Thrive
Developed by the team at Fusion Western Sydney, this program seeks to build young people’s confidence and sense of self-worth, develop their capacity to make wise decisions, recognise influence and exert it positively, help them identify personal goals, develop plans to achieve their goals, and bring a stronger connection to their peers and the school community. Lessons are built around three foundational concepts: Growing Myself, Growing with Others, and Growing in Community.
Wellbeing 101
This program aims to help students establish simple healthy habits to maintain wellbeing. The program facilitates self-discovery and confidence so that young people can take ownership of their potential, become responsible for their behaviour and participate fully in their own lives. Young people will learn to look inward to understand themselves, minimise stress and build resilience, and outward to support their community and develop a positive school culture. Students will discover, learn and practice during the week, addressing topics such as listening, thankfulness, mindfulness and looking outward.
Make Your Mark
for identified Pasifika Students
An extension of the Building Blocks program, Mark Your Mark was developed to meet the needs of Pasifika students in schools. It can be run as a stand-alone program, or as part of the Infuse Program.
By focusing on the background of students, we aim to connect them to culture, enhance their understanding of identity, and enable them to set purpose-driven goals beyond what they’ve seen in their own community.
Infuse Polynesian modules include:
- The House with Four Walls – over to 1 to 4 sessions.
- Wayfarers – Understanding Your Life Journey
- Volcanic Emotions
Additional Projects: Canvas Tiles group painting; learning about volcanoes; museum visit and traditional dress, necklace and lei making; careers talks with Polynesian community leaders.
A range of Infuse modules can also be tailored to include Polynesian modifications.
Youthworker On Campus
Would your school benefit from a worker whose focus is to build student engagement? A worker whose professional training allows them to develop community, work with troubled students and provide specialist group programs? A worker who is governed by professional ethics and is highly competent and continuously upskilled in their field?
You’re looking for a Youth worker!
Youth Worker on Campus is a partnership service offered by Fusion Sydney South to provide local high schools with a professional youth worker.
Many of our local schools need a youth worker, a chaplain, a student welfare officer or a CLO (working in a frontline youth work position), but it can be a challenge to train, supervise, support, and ensure these non-teaching positions are being carried out in compliance with current professional and ethical standards.
We can help.
Fusion Australia Ltd is a youth and community organisation with over 65 years experience working alongside people of goodwill to transform communities across Australia.
At Fusion Sydney South, our team of specialist youth workers are career professionals dedicated to delivering the type of youth services and innovative practice that facilitates positive change within our local youth communities.
Youth Worker on Campus offers high schools the opportunity to engage a qualified and supervised youth worker. Our service provides this worker with professional development, supervision, industry oversight and organisational supports so that your school can acquire the best person for their youth work needs with the minimal amount of risk and social service industry knowledge.
