Outreach
and Support

We all need to find our purpose in life, and we’re all about supporting young people to discover and achieve their full potential.

Here at Fusion Sydney South, we’re committed to engaging with local young people, developing a supportive community around them in which they can explore their identity and purpose.

Burwood Youth Outreach

A partnership between Burwood Council and Fusion, BYO emerged as a response to a gap in service delivery and youth engagement in the Burwood LGA. Following consultation with young people, this weekly drop-in outreach was established at the Burwood Community Centre, at Burwood Park.

The program provides access to youth workers, basic recreation, snacks, active games and a safe environment. It can also include scheduled activities and workshops in a relaxed environment, driven by young people but regulated and supported by the youth workers.

The program is held during school terms on Thursday afternoon from 2:45PM to 4:45PM.

We welcome agencies, organisations and volunteers interested in being part of the program or helping with resources.

Brekky Clubs

School based breakfast clubs provide safe spaces for students to connect and be themselves. Not only do they provide nourishing food for students at the start of the day, but they’re also places to have a conversation with an interested adult or play a friendly game with others before the school work begins.

The Brekkie Club team is made up of school staff, volunteers, and our Fusion youth workers. Breakfast provided includes toast, cereal, and drinks, all prepared by the team. The heart of the program is on building rapport and connection with the students, with youth workers also available to provide information, advice and referrals as needed.

The program typically delivers early morning, 7:15AM to 9:00AM, depending on when school begins for the day.

Mentoring101

We're committed to supporting our young people to be the best they can be. Through our individual mentoring program, we can work with young people aged 12 to 18 years to address their specific needs, set goals, and help them work through how to get there.

Referrals can be made by schools, organisations, youth agencies and by young people themselves.

This is a three-month program, with an option for ongoing check-in support under our mentoring framework.
